The Chilean rose tarantula, also known as the rose hair tarantula, the Chilean fire tarantula, or the Chilean red-haired tarantula, is probably one of the most common species of tarantula available in South africa along with the culry hair, chaco and red rump.
They make great pet spiders and they are very hardy. Not to be confused with the Grammastola porteri (Chilean rose normal colour form). They use to be classified as one species but a different colour form. Now they are reclassified as two different species namely Grammastola rosea (Red colour form) and Grammastola porteri (Normal colour form).
